Growing up in a former Belgian mining town, I witnessed nature slowly reclaiming the coal slag heaps of my childhood. Now, as Europe rushes to extract lithium for its ecological transition, I travel to Serbia, France and Portugal to explore how this new mining boom echoes the past. Through three characters of different generations and backgrounds, I question our relationship with the earth and uncover the paradoxes of "green mining".
